power supply fans start then stop right after

Hey, so my pc worked fine in till one day the gpu was way overheated. I opened my case and saw the power supply fan was still. When I turn on my pc it spins briefly then stops again. Could this be the reason my gpu is overheating q? Can I fix the power supply, or do I need a new one?

Unless your PSU is pretty new, as some stop the fan by design under light loads, it sounds like your PSU is indeed bad. I would definitely replace it if it used to always spin, which most PSU fans do. There are a lot of bad things that can happen to your PC components if the PSU fan isn't spinning when it's supposed to and decides to fail; could take other parts w/ it.
