Power supply for a radeon 7850

hey guys i just ordered a sapphire radeon 7850 and believe that i am going to need a new psu. i have a 650 watt ultra psu that has never given me trouble before, but i just dont want to take any chances with a 260 dollar plus video card. can anyone recommend a good card to get that would not be overkill but would fit my needs? i will probably want to add another 7850 for eyefinity in the next 6 to 12 months so i want something that can handle 2 7850's. thanks for any advice. here is my build:

i7-870
gigabyte ud3 p55 motherboard
90gb corsair force gt ssd
(2) 1 terabyte samsung spinpoint hard drives 7200rpm
1 dvd rw
16gb g-skill ram 1333 mghz (4x4 sticks)
(2) radeon 7850 gpus

any advice on a psu would be greatly appreciated. if i can keep it under 100 bucks it would be great but if it goes a little over im fine with that. my cooling in the case should be fine its a coolermaster HAF X

An HD7850 can run on a decent 400W PSU, and yours should be good for even crossfire.

If you really want a new one, look at the 650-700W region. OCZ Modextreme 700W costs around $80 and both the TX650 & PC P&C Silencer 750W cost $90. Either would do.

to OP,650w is fine for 7850 CF but if you want a new psu under $100 then tx750w v2 is a great choice and will leave plenty of room for overclocking and CF-

650W Ultra what? Lol.

Some generic (like some "Ultras" I've heard) have low 12v amps. 650W is plenty for 1, however 2 HD7850s on a generic could be different. A quality 650w is more than likely capable.

What make/model is your PSU, OP?

+1 TX750, too good of a deal to pass up. I've been using the V1 for a few years now without a hiccup (got it power my old 4890s back when).

thanks for all the replies i really appreciate them. the model is an Ultra LSP650 650 Watt Power Supply. i got it on tiger direct and it has worked fine for a while. should i wait until i crossfire to get a new psu? thanks again for all the replies

this unit has only 38 AMPs on +12 rail.i would suggest a newer psu.

You should be able to perfectly cf those cards with that psu, 7850's consume roughly 120w in extreme real world tests, such as extreme gaming.
