Power Supply for AMD ATI 7770 & AMD Phenom 2 965BE

Hi,

I am thinking of buying ATI Radeon HD 7770 DDR5 graphics card for my system. On manufacturers side It is written that 450 Watt power supply is sufficient. However my CPU is also power hungry. Its a 140 watt. So, I am wondering which power supply I should buy. CPU. Below are my System specifications:

CPU: AMD Phenom 2 965 black edition(140 W)
MB: msi 890gxm g65

Also: Please suggest any other graphics card in similar price range.

Thanks for the promt reply. But a 750 Watts of power supply is required or a PSU with less wattage will serve the purpose.

Could you re-word that. I got a bit confused. Personally I always go for the higher numbers. I have a 900w PSU myself. Before that, I had a 1000w PSU. If you're wanting the most power for futureproofing purposes, go for a 900w-1000w PSU.

'm sure a good 450 watt psu will be fine. The 7770 doesn't draw that mush power...

If you are going to overclock that BE, A 550 watt psu would be better.

Honestly, unless you're adding another graphics card, you won't hit 450W consumption. Just make sure the PSU supplies enough amps, sometimes the weaker PSUs might not. Just get something like a CX500 and rest easy!
