Hey there.. I'm now planning on buying GTX 970 and I'm not sure about its power requirements and what connectors should my PSU have. plus i want to know that I was told by a friend of mine that my casing supported only 500W power supply(Not more). so what does that mean ? Does the size of PSU increases with its power rating ? Do I have to change the full casing for a 970 ?

http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm has a list of GPUs and their power requirements, however I'm confused by the casing bit. What type of computer case do you have? The only thing that comes to mind is if it's a mini, micro or some sort of proprietary case that has a specially made PSU to fit in it. Some cases like a Dell Optiplex that are micro or mini towers have specially made PSUs to be able to fit in a smaller case and those generally don't go over a certain power limit. If you have anything like a Mid tower, you could easily replace the PSU (in most cases) if you needed something bigger.
