Hi, I have a gaming spec machine which i only use for emails and browsing.

Recently, the psu blown up from a power surge. It had Corsair GS650W .

Now i am looking to replace it and wondering if i should go for 450W as i hardly use my machine ?

I have gone through the following link and 450w can be used but i like to take second option from experts on this forum. Also, what are the good brands out there ? Should i stick with Corsair ?

Is there any saving on electric bill when using 650W vs 450W or 500W ?

Thanks

does a lower wattage use less power NO a higher efficiency is better

The power supply must support the system as built. List all your parts for a proper recommendation.

Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V LX2
Graphic Card: EAH6450 SILENT/DI/1GD3(LP)
RAM = 16gb
You didn't list your CPU, but I don't see your system ever using more than 200 watts as long as the CPU has a TDP of around 100 watts or less, so any decent power supply around 300 watts or more would be fine. If you plan to upgrade the system in the next year or two you'll want to get enough power to support that now so you'll be ready for the upgrade.
