Power supply has tons of extra wires

As you can see I have tons of extra wires..
I do not have an optical drive and I have 1 internal hard drive

It should look like a black connector and it will only fit one way (feel free to be a bit rough as they don't always go into properly) due to a notch that looks like an L.

You shouldn't need a MOLEX converter plug as it's a modern PSU (XFX?)


What I do is collect the spare wires with tape (electrical preferably but duct tape or something as strong and non-conductive is fine!) into a neat bundle and tape it out of the way which improves airflow and makes it easier to work on stuff. Just watch out for cables going into fans and don't bend them at extreme angles as they'll break!

From your second picture, it looks like you've hooked up the data cable but not the power. One of those spare SATA power plugs is what you need. There's only one way it can go.
