Hey guys,
Im just about to build my first PC. :)
Here is a link to the build
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/d69zxY
All prices are from a local shop. Probably overpriced ;)
Please could I have some help choosing a power supply. I am not sure how many watts I will need.
I have already put in a Corsair CX500 just for now.
I am trying to find something without mustard cables or should i just get these :
https://www.pccasegear.com/products/37536/phanteks-sleeved-cable-extension-kit-red
Anyways I just don't want my pc to look like crap with mustard cables :)

Any other feedback would be appreciated like just some advice.
Advice like where I could save money or something like that.

Also is it necessary to buy an ankle strap or will touching my case be enough.
Also Also should i build on tiles or timber,

Sorry for all the questions in one post.

Solution
A few things with your build:

Z170 board are good for an i5-6600k or an i7-6700k
For a regular 6600/6500 get a B150/H170 board as the difference is mainly multi-GPU support (which your card can't do) and overclocking capability (which your CPU can't do). You can save a few bucks there.

Why go with windows 8.1?
It provides literally no benefit over windows 10

If you already got the CX500 I don't think you should change it
But it provides poor value. I mean if you were paying 85$ for a CX500, it's heavily overpriced, given that you can get a really good PSU for around 100AU$ that'll perform better and last longer than the CX500
Furthermore the CX500 isn't modular meaning you can't change cables unless you're voiding your warranty and know a thing or two about PSUs.

I completely agree with everything said above. Regarding the power supply, it`s okay but I`d say go just a bit upwards, Very good options in the Seasonic or Antec or EVGA stable at this time. If I had to choose one that would fit your build nicely:

https://seasonic.com/product/m12ii-520-evo/
Well priced and no "condoment colored" cables here.

One other thing, if at all possible, this is just a suggestion. If your budget does not fit this then it`s fine. But try to go for the 1050 ti instead of the standard 1050, again if at all possible. Just those few extra frames in gaming will help in my opinion.

That is also true, that is only a suggestion regarding my own personal experience with Seasonic as it is still, the best upgrade I`ve done in my PC to date. But yes Fractal Design also makes very good PSU`s and if you can get it cheaper then you must do so. Given what he says is also true, your power supply is still good if it`s functioning correctly and a upgrade would be needless unless it`s broken.

Hahahahaha you never expressed the definition of "make" did you?? At the end of the day the consumer will be looking at the front end and will be call Fractal Design for support...

But you are a funny guy you:pt1cable:

aim for a Fractal Design Edison M, usually comes at a good price in AU
or at least the CXM 550
