Power supply is warm

just bought a new gaming pc. I bought the parts from newegg and assembled is myself. i just shut it down after installing all of the drivers when I noticed the top of the case was warm. I opened the case and felt the PSU and it was warm.

anybody know why its a little hot?
her is my rig.

What's your CPU temps? If you need software check out RealTemp: http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/

How's your cable management? Do you have good airflow inside the case?

Try taking the side of the case off and running with it on it's side so any heat should leave and not get into the PSU. Does it get as hot?

Anything using electricity is going to generate heat. You say the PSU is "WARM" - by this do you mean it feels warm to touch and leave your hand in contact ? or does it get so hot that you have to move your hand away ?

Most important thing to check is your CPU temps and system temps where possible.

+1^ You say warm, thats normal. touch the bottom of your cpu heatsink while your comps on, if the top your case feels like that, then worry.

actually thats a bad comparison.....sorry, a car bonnet on a hot summers day!, then really worry!

Hey guys, thanks for taking your time to help me.
I did some googling and found out that the issue was from the default 6-pin power connector for the video card that has two molex on the end. so instead I connected the 6 pin pci-E connector to the video card. nice and cool. all my temps are about 80-85F.
