Power supply issue ?

Ive been having this issue while playing games(Far cry 3,sleeping dogs=just happened) on pc the pc shuts down (after playing for about half an hour) and starts back up again but for a few seconds after it starts itself, I hear high fan speed coming from GPU ,I always suspected the PSU to be the culprit which is poor quality Codegen 500watt
+12v1 +12v2 +3.3v +5v and some other unimportant 10 low wat
16A 18A 30A 40a
Max 264w Max 235w

other specs : 3570k @4.2ghz CM 212evo (temps stable)
4gb ram
radeon hd 7950 oc 9 (temps stable)

What do you think?

Any time a computer turns it self off its a hardware issue thats step one. Step two is I would get a replacement PSU from Antec or Corsair or another reputable brand. The PSU you have right now is not reputable. This should solve your issue. Best of Luck.

I would get a better psu. A good name brand 500 or 600 watt would fix this.

Im going to get a cooler master gx750 d3 bronze ,I can't get an antec or other brands due to PC shop not having them so Im going to have to make do with cooler master gx 750

I can tell you cheap psu might say it is rated at 500 watts but in the real world it is a 300 or so. I would not worry about your old psu as it is garbage.

Yeh ok mainly my curiosity originates from my previous GPU which was hd 5870 and never had this shutting down problem ,I would guess 5870 draws lower power compared to 7950 w/boost ?

Yeah the 5870 uses less power and also the age of your psu plays a factor.

If you can only buy locally then get the best you can but Cooler Master PSU are not really the best when it comes down to it and you could get a much better deal ordering from Newegg. But if that is not possible I understand and in that case get the best you can. But do not wait long because I do not think that the PSU you have will last much longer.

Can't order online since that will take weeks but I need to get access to whatever 'quality' PSU I can get my hands on
From what I have read I know Cooler master isn't the best but this is as far as I can get on quality .Im also relying on that 5 year warranty they have. Maybe it will turn out ok.
