I was given a used custom build computer with some older parts and I upgraded some of the parts in it. It came with a Gigabyte motherboard, Corsair GS700 Power Supply, an older Geforce 550 GTX Ti graphics card, and 1 4GB stick of ram. I only upgraded the graphics card to a basic nongaming graphics card and then switched to a EVGA GeForce GTX970 and added 1 additional 4GB stick of ram of the same make an model as the other. When the non gaming card was in with both 4GB ram sticks, it ran fine just couldn't handle my games. But with the GTX970 and both sticks, the computer turns on, but doesn't make it past the motherboard boot menu after turning on the computer. It sits at the motherboard menu and then the whole thing just shuts down/powers off and keeps starting itself back up over and over again. It does okay with just one 4GB stick of ram, but then it still loads slower and doesn't handle the game the way im used to. Is this an issue of needing a bigger power supply??
