what is in the difference of model of cooler master rs-400-psar-i3 and rs-400-psar-j3. I have seen all the specs are the same but why the model names are different and which one is better to fit in an Optiplex 380 MT.

Solution
I can't search from Ebay because it redirects me to Au version.

Though power supplies like the Corsair CX 2017, Corsair CXM 2015, Cooler Master MasterWatt, or be Quiet Pure Power 10 are usually in that budget range while being alot better.

That Corsair VS 450 isn't complete crap, but meant for system integrators. There are usually better options at the price though.

Just so you know but both are TERRIBLE power supply's and cannot come close to delivering 400w. I advice you to not use these for any computer and get a quality psu if you want your pc to keep functioning and not getting fried by a bad psu.

They have very different internal designs. The I3 version is made by SolyTech while the J3 version is made by FSP.

I’d avoid both. Where are you bugging from and what is your budget?

my budget is $60-$75.

I currently have a Dell Optiplex 380 MT
Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 @ 2.93GHz
6GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce GT 1030
Power Supply 255W

So, i'm upgrading my processor to an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 @ 3.00GHz and so choosing a 400W power supply

any suggestions about the supply supply is 400W enough or should i go for a 500w?

Get this PSU, will last long and be good even when you might get a new PC 😉 That proccy will certainly be better than your current one but do consider getting a full new PC as current triple A games are very demanding.

No. Look for quality, not wattage. As long as wattage is enough, you should be looking for quality and value. Your system will consume well under 250w so you will be fine for wattage.

Those Cooler masters seem an unusual option for that budget. Where are you located, which currency, and which retailers are you purchasing from?

done some research about the power supply
1st video uses a Cooler Master rs-400-psar-i3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQ-B2HkLxKk
2nd video uses a StarTech.com 400w https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3atdkd8PPCc

Other suggestions I have seen:
Corsair CX450M

Like most of you said the Cooler Master said a bad one so I will avoid it.

Well, I can't buy Seasonic as mostly comes from the US which costs high shipping price.

I made it easier to pick a good one for me on this link:

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&Form%2520Factor=ATX&LH_BIN=1&LH_FS=1&_nkw=power%20supply&_dcat=42017&_trksid=p2045573.m1684

please choose a right one according to my PC profile:
Dell Optiplex 380 MT
Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 @ 2.93GHz
6GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce GT 1030
