Okay guys. I've been thinking of buying a MSI Radeon 7770 1 GB to replace my crappy Sapphire 4670 HD 1 GB. My power supply is 400 W. Is it enough for the 7770? And do I need an external power supply? How do I get that? What is a 6 pin connector? Do I have to buy a new PSU? I really need help.

A PSU from a "good" Company will usualy list (Or show images) of the connectors it provides. For a GPU, Watts available on the +12V rail(s) And AMP rating matter most.

If your not sure about power either

1. If your PSU is from a OEM (Such as DELL, HP, Gateway etc.) Open the side of the case, Take a picture of the PSU tag, Upload that photo to Photobucket and post the link here
2. If you bought it, then Link the store page

This is the one I have. I really doubt it has a 6 pin connector.

I'm thinking of buying this but not sure if it has a 6 pin connector. Can you please tell me?

it has two 8 pin PCI power connections, which is fine:

btw, what cpu do you have?

Thanks. But is there anything cheaper I can get? Otherwise I'll have less money left for my graphics card

that is a 65 watt CPU and depending on the model of 7770 that could add up to ~85 watts for 150 watts. include 5 watts for a hard drive, ~15 watts for the chipset and 5 watts for any case fan and your still below 200 watts on the 12 volt rail.

keep that under 80% load; 200/.8 = 250 watts of 12 volts.

the corsair CX430 would be quite fine for Rs. 2703.

keep in mind, if you want to upgrade the CPU to a 125 watts, that iwll be cutting it close, it will work but will be close.
260/.8= 325 watts and that has 336 (and i am keeping the load under 80% of max)

How about a 550W PSU? I'll probably crossfire my 7770 in the future. Will it be enough?

i would highly recommend NOT to crossfire two entry level GPUs; its better to a better single card. also that AMD Athlon 2 X2 245 will limit it.

if you are asking about that corsair VS550, to be honest at the moment i am not comfortable recommending those. i suggested a VS450 to someone to find out it is based off of a cheap rocketfish design and they have problems with it; the ran doesn't spin and they need to drive 4 hours to get it replaced.

that is a new series from corsair for counties with only 220 volt input and though corsair have mostly quality PSUs sometimes they drop the ball. now that could have been just one time but i am waiting to see some reviews from a reputable site, like johnny guru, before i make any more suggestions for those.

though that seasonic 520 is out of your budget, that would be a better choice with what i know at this moment.

i have no idea where you get that a ~130 watt graphics set up needs a 600 watt PSU

but it is not correct.

Yes, you do have an idea, but nope I won´t post the chip manufacturer system requirements as you´d expect here, because it is what you want me to do, just to say that besides 2x HD 7770, the OP CPU, memory, HDD, etc, all together do not need 469W (600 - 131).

I wonder why you didn´t post the correct wattage for the OP´s system -- instead you posted a huge and unnecessary card, with a lot of irrelevant stuff -- why on the hell the OP needs to know, for instance, that a GTX 590 uses 350W? Or that an HD 6990 needs 288W, and so on and forth?

The only thing the OP needs to know is how much wattage it is needed to power 2x HD 7770, and the rest of the system, but you haven´t delivered the information, but shown expertise in tumulting!
