I'm still new to learning about voltages for power supplies
but I've been wracking my brain for too long. I think I've narrowed it down
to what the problem might be.
When I run OCCT, it immediately loses signal to monitor and crashes.
have to reboot. I'm looking closely at the voltages trying to make sense of them
and I think a couple things are too low. Im having hard crashes in games that
require very low requirements. it crashes as soon as any kind of fmv or cgi intro
movie runs like in Child of Light for examples.
occt shows +12v @7.87, +5@3.43v, +3 @ 1.87v
Yes, all my drivers are up to date.
mobo is asus m5a78-m(brand new)
hyperx black 1600mhz 2x4gb dual(in the correct slots and i ran mem test with no problems)
fx6300(brand new)
radeon 6870(which is my old one)
I also have a new r9 280 which crashes quicker than the 6870 which is why i have it
installed instead. that's why i think it's a power issue. the r9 needs more power and is choking
out the psu since it could be broke.
