My psu (xfx 850w core edition power supply) has recently started making a ticking sound when I switched my graphics card from an r9 280x to a gtx 970. Its not intermittent and is a constant sound that is there from the start up of the computer to when i shut it off. I'm not sure if this means my psu is faulty. I remember that I ended up dropping my case a little by about an inch off the table when I was laying it down to insert my new graphics card in. Could that be the problem and if so what should I do? Its been running like this for about 2 days and i havent noticed any performance issue or anything yet but i dont want the psu to die and take out all of my components with it.

Edit: I just checked my psu monitor in my bios and the results are cpu core= 1.024, cpu I/O= 1.016, DRAM= 1.504, 3.3v= 3.376, 5v= 5.080, 12v= 12.056 to 12.1. Someone please tell me if this is normal or if there is something irregular about those voltages. I also dont mind the sound that much and only care if there is a possibility of the psu going bad of taking my other components down with it.

I checked with a flashlight yesterday and i didnt see anything in there but I never dissassembled it because it would void the warranty.
