[SOLVED] Power Supply Making Static Noise

My Power Supply has been making static noises while gaming, but other than that it's usually not. Does anyone know the solution to this problem ? I feel like i should RMA it in hopes of getting another one without this issue

What model is your PSU and how long has it been in service?

What are the rest of your hardware specifications?

Honestly, you need to record the audio another time, when there is no tv or other background noise going on. It is impossible to hear anything over the amount of background noise, and what you CAN hear, sounds normal. Try to eliminate ALL background noise, and potentially, record at night when even outside noise is at a minimum and everybody is sleeping. Eliminate other sources of noise such as tv etc.

It's Gaming Freak Prima 600w and it's been in service for a couple of days

4 claimed protections, atx standard requires a minimum of 3 specifics, so barely makes the cut, but is a decent start.

2x12v rails at 24A per rail isn't totally bad for a 600w unit, but their claim of 576w (12v x 24A x2) is pure *** as split rails aren't added on a 1 to 1 basis. That 48A will be closer to 43-44A output, making the 12v circuit closer to 510-530w, not the advertised 576w. That kind of wattage is more synonymous with the older group regulated power supply designs, not the more modern DC-DC.

Only 2x 6+2pin on a 600w claimed psu is another dead giveaway of lack of faith in the unit. As is a 3 year warranty.

Which can mean the protective circuitry can be a wash, some of that built into/assumed by the nature of group regulation.

I'm betting it was a really cheap unit, that gets your attention by its clean looks and rgb fan. Where is the amperage/wattage per rail label? Not even shown on the website, but plenty of pictures of all the pretty wires.

Decent went downhill in a hurry, it's a total snow job, cover up, trick.

Get your money back. A pile of poo covered in bling is still a pile of poo.

Never cheap out on psu get a better unit its the heart of the pc. It goes bad it might take other parts out. Replace it with a better one.

Yeah.. That's a group regulated PSU and you're using it with a 2060. That's going to be noisy <<snip>>. Probably the output choke.

You really need a non-garbage PSU.

You're in Malaysia, right?
