Power supply needed, I guess

I put saphire 6770 into old pc with 775 Intel socket board. Little did I know how shity power supply was. I plan to add some midrange amd processor (AM2 or AM3 socket) and I need to choose power supply, how about those:

ENERMAX LIBERTY ELT500AWT (+12v1 22a / +12v2 22a / 384w-32a)

Be quiet! Dark Power Pro 530W (+12v1 20a / +12v2 20a / 408w-34a)

Be quiet! Straight power e8 550w ( four 12v rails, 18a. Max combined 12v power 480w)

Is Thermaltake Smart SE 630W Power Supply - SPS-630M much better than above mentioned?

How is it possible that system worked for couple days with shit power supply seemingly fine bur now pc turns off after 2 minutes max even with old geforce 9600gt which was in it 5 years?

Current power supply is ms pro 550w atx p4 with one 16a 12v.

I hope this is enough info since I can't turn pc on.

i don't know how much testing you did,but maybe you have dying psu,and not a dead one yet.

be quiet! Pure Power L8 500W,you can not hear it running.

If your planning on upgrading in the future you might be better buying a more powerful PSU, maybe even heading up to 750W minimum.
