Bought this power supply on March 11 2015, almost a month ago.
Bought on NCIX.com

This happened twice in two days. Yesterday, my power supply started making a lot of noise while I was playing Team Fortress 2. It started to make the noise after about an hour of playing the game. The noise was really loud and kind of sounded like the fan was reving up too much and was hitting something (made an alarm-like sound) I was on Skype while it happened and my friends could all perfecly hear the sound. I shut down my PC as fast as possible while putting my ear as close as I could against the power supply to make sure the sound came from it. I knew the sound came from there at that point.

Day two (today) : I wasn't doing anything demanding, just watching a stream on Twitch and it did it again. I had the computer running for a couple of hours straight (4-5 hours). The thing is, when it starts to do the sound, it keeps getting louder with time even if I'm closing all of the applications that are running.

What should I do? Should I ship the power supply back and get another one with a higher electric power capacity? Should I ship it back and get the same one? Should I fix it myself : open it up and try to find in any cables are in the way or to tight up the screws? I heard it was really not safe to do so even if I have the equipment to do it. I heard never to open up any power supplies.

Sorry if I made any grammar mistakes what so ever, english isn't my native language.
Thanks for your replies.

The quality of the PSU, doesn't handle stress very well. It's not capable of what you are throwing at it. It is working hard, heating up, and struggling to cool itself . Make sure its fan is not struggling against all your case fans. If not kept cool, it will probably die in a blaze of glory. I'd replace it before it kills. I'm unsure if this helps you any but http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2150235/choose-perfect-power-supply.html

Solution
I just looked up the CPU usage for watching streams on Twitch and it does require alot of power as well, just like Team Fortress 2. I figured that the noise only happens when I'm doing stuff that requires 70-100% of my CPU.
But I'm not sure if the problem is the quality of my PSU unless by quality, you meant power efficiency since my power supply only has 80+ standard. I didn't think my power supply was of bad quality. But I'll still look for a higher power PSU with better power efficiency and I'll make sure it has the strenght to support the games I play. Until then, I will not play any games or was streams on Twitch to make sure it doesn't get any more damage.
I'll see if I can ship it back.

Thanks for the reply. :)

Glad I'm here to help!
