Power supply or graphics card problem

Power supply wont start woth two pcie cables plugged in, but starts when they're not plugged in

Power supply: xfx xtr series 750watt 80 gold plus modular
Graphics card: gtx 1060 6gb
Processor: i7 6700k
Motherboard: msi z170A pro carbon

Why and were are you plugging in 2 PCIe cables?

The GTX 1060 only takes one PCIe connection.

One end of the cable says psu and that goes to my graphics and the other end it split into two pcie cables that go into my power supply I thought?

The end that says PSU goes into the PSU, the split end goes into the GPU.... Normally one 8 Pin connection.

I've switched them over, and now my screen is coming on saying to reboot and select proper boot device. Any idea about this?

Do you have an OS installed?


Go in the bios and check to make sure the right HD is selected to boot from if so.

When on my bios and clicking the sotrage tab, it's on recognising one of my ssd's my hdd or other ssd isn't on the list, trying to find it now
