Hello everyone, I'm re purposing a PC power supply for my 3D printer and apart from the set of 4 cables the printers uses, the rest of the plug is really just in the way. What I'm in the middle of doing now it to remove all the unneeded wires to clean up clutter and am thinking it would be nice to re-purpose some of the connections to power other things like a USB port for example. I have a wireing diagram and of course I'll use the correct +5V and ground for the USB port, but there are other poin outs that I don't understand what they can do. For example, here is the legend for the PS I'm working with:
GND (Obviously Ground)
+3.3V (Possitive 3.3 volts)
+3.3 V SnS (What's SnS?)
+5V (Possitive 5 volts)
+5 SBY (What's SBY?)
-12V (What's the difference between the + and -?)
+12VA (Not sure why these are labled A through E?)
+12VB
+12VC
+12VD
+12VE
PWR On (I used this and jumped to GND to allow for the Power Supply to work sans Motherboard)
PWR Good (Would this power a sensor or can it be used for anything outside of a PC case?)
Sorry, I know there's lots here ... any help would be great. Basically I'm going to print (3d printer) a case for this PS and have the face fitted with what ever I can reuse.
Thank you in advance
Ponch
