power supply question

I was wondering if the xfx pro black edition 1050w is a good psu and is it continuous power? Also is having more watts then I'll be using a bad thing in anyway? Thanks

1050 is a massive amount of watts a lot more than most systems need.
Having some overkill is not bad, but usally spending the money for a lot bigger one than you need is not really spending wisely.
