Hey,
Recently couple of nice guys told me my zumax psu is a disaster waiting to happen and I need to change. These are 2 psu's in my budget and I wondered which is better.
Antec vp650p
Corsair 650w cp
Thanks :)

oh god, not this Tier1/2 crap again. buy a bentley! and a rolex! everything else is crap!

corsair cp? they have a cx, or hx, or rm. is cp an older model? the cx is overpriced for that power level, but the cx is great for the 430/500 watt units.

can your budget swing an EVGA 500B, for example? what IS your budget, and where are you buying from?

I need 620 watt or 650.
I'm don't have a lot of selection in my country. So if you could recommend something common if the corsair and antec are no good . thanks for all the answers!

I'm from Israel. Zap is one site which u can search. I think it's in Hebrew tho. I have about 400$ budget for psu , CPU cooler, and a grapichs card. Because everything is expensive its like 270 $ in us terms.

ouch. ok, google can translate, but the prices are high! even at 100 of whatever the currency is, there's mostly cheap junk. you only start to see decent stuff at 193.

do you really need 650W, or does your graphics card say you need a 650W system? can you tell us what your computer is? there might be a power supply that's good for less money, if you only actually need 450W.

I7 4790k(cooler it came with for now but I want to upgrade to 212 evo)
8 gb ram 1300 mhz
No grapichs card yet (planning on 280x)
H87m plus motherboard
Wd 1 TB
And that's basically it.
But the r9 series needs alot of power.
BTW im replacing my Zumax pro 550 w.
I didn't build this computer some one built it for me and took 1200$ 2.5 years ago. Rip off I know. Just trying to improve so I can get to some real gaming

I don't even know anymore lol.
Everything is shitty and expensive here, and I don't know how much shipping from amazon will cost. But if some one could check for me that will be great! (16 so don't have credit card yet) but let's say 120$ include shipping from amazon.

If you want the heart of your computer to be junk, then do not bother with the list.

On the other hand, if you want a system that will last for years, buy a Tier 1 or Tier 2 power supply.

It IS your choice.

On the other hand, since you seem to want to send people after Tier 4 units, would you kindly provide a warranty for them as well.

BTW

I think that i would go for the cooler master here. For what a psu uses,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajiN9aVOv4A
listen carefully at the specs. He talks about wattage pulled from the wall.which means that efficiency stil needs to be applied.Somewhere he pulls about 430watts,when efficiency is applied as i call it is this the math needed,
430:100x90=387 really use by the pc when the psu really can deliver 550watts it just pulls more from the wall to do it..

You won't find that one in the tier list, oem models, like this one,are not reviewed and as such is there too little known about them to put them in there. The gold rate above likewise..
It doesn't seem to be bad,the issue with this one, imo,is that it uses four +12V rails and i don't know how the two pcie power connectors are powered from those,if powered by two seperate rails should you be fine, but one is abit tight to me.It's MTBF is also rated as >100.000 hours, but at max temps of 25°c.

I still would go for the cooler master.
