Power Supply Question

Hello everyone,

I have an FX 6300, a GTX 750 ti, an ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3, and 8 gb of RAM.

My PSU to power this is the Antec VP-450. I've done some OC with my CPU already and have gotten it stable at 4.5 ghz with low temps (Hyper 212 EVO cooler). My question is: is it best to upgrade my PSU if I plan to OC more, say both my GPU and CPU? It is only a 450W, so I'm a bit concerned that it is not enough for my OC demands.

Thanks!

Solution
The GTX 750ti is very low power use, 450W is plenty (well enough at least) You system draw is unlikely to exceed 320W, even when overclocked both CPU and GPU.

I would not have recommended that motherboard (I hope). It lacks heatsinks on the VRMs and can overheat when you overclock. Get some aftermarket heatsinks or zip-tie a fan in the case to cool your motherboard.

I would prefer to use a higher-performance PSU for Overclocking or anything else. What market are you in?

So far it's been a good motherboard; can't complain. I have about 4 fans cooling my rig, 5 if you count the CPU cooler, so I don't think temperatures for the motherboard will be an issue. I do have a fan specifically cooling the motherboard too.

I'm in the budget market; whatever will get me the most bang for my buck.
