I'm building a computer for the first time and I have 1 SSD, and 2 HDDs, and a fan controller and a cpu liquid cooler that both have a plug that I assume needs to be plugged into sata power cable, and my PSU is 100% modular with 3 sata spots and 4 vga spots, so I'm wondering if I can use the vga slots as sata power for the fan controller and psu cooler. Components listed below. Thank you for helping to anyone who is able to!

Asus z270 gaming motherboard
Evga g3 850w psu
Dark base pro 900 case
Corsair h115i liquid cooler

er, you don't have the parts yet do you? It will all make more sense when you do.
The SSD and two HDD do take SATA power from the PSU.

the Fan Controller and Cooler most likely have 3 pin connections which come from the motherboard. It is possible that the fan controller has a SATA or MOLEX style power connection, in which case it would come from the PSU as well.

But the SATA powered devices take 3.3, 5 and 12v power. The VGA plugs provide 12v power only. The fans take 5v only. MOLEX have 5v and 12v, and could be what the fan controller wants.

That is a lot of detail that isn't really important, but the point is that whether the fan controller has a 3 pin fan connection to connect to the motherboard, or a 4 pin molex to connect...

That is a lot of detail that isn't really important, but the point is that whether the fan controller has a 3 pin fan connection to connect to the motherboard, or a 4 pin molex to connect to the PSU, or a 15 pin SATA to the PSU - all 3 connections are capable of providing the necessary 5v power for the fans.

It will make so much more sense when you have them all in front of you - the square pegs won't fit in the round holes.
