Hello all! This is my first computer repair, and I am trying to replace the power supply on a Dell XPS 625. It looks like Dell ran some of the cables from the power supply under the motherboard, so Ill have to take out the motherboard in order to get the old cables out. That seems strange, and certainly inconvenient. Am I missing something? Is there an easier way or is taking out the motherboard part of the normal process?

Thanks.

Probably there's some kind of cable management. Remove the other side panel and check if the cables are routed behind the motherboard tray.

If you can't see any cables, probably they rout the cable between the motherboard and the motherboard tray and the only way to replace that PSU is by removing the motherboard.
