so i've been having problem with my pc ..

first problem : "display driver stopped responding and has recovered"

you can find this problem in detail and what i did to try to fix it here :
http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-3046802/display-driver-stopped-responding-nvidia.html

second problem : i've been getting shocked (really light shocks barely noticeable) when i touch the usb ports and also the case specifically in the PSU backside ..

so thought i'd try to fix the second problem and see if it does something to the first .. and even if it doesn't at least i fixed one of them.

before i jump to the actual reason of the post in case someone thinks i'm doing something wrong by trying to replace my psu go ahead and tell me why please.

so the reason i made this post is to ask about the best psu for me

specs :

MB : asrock z77 extreme9
GPU : gigabyte geforce gtx 680 2gb
CPU : intel core i7-3770k 3.5 GHZ
PSU: Corsair CX750
RAM : vengance 8gb (2*4)

the one i've bee eyeing is :
http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-SuperNOVA-Crossfire-Warranty-220-G2-0750-XR/dp/B00IKDETOW/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=ttgreviews-20&linkId=fc1a9692ec2cb911da17cdc0aa80a9f7

thoughts ?

My guess is the lil shocks you are getting are static electricity and not related to PSU. The CX is by no means a good PSU ; the proposed replacement is a very, very good unit. We have a G2 1000 and the only thing of concern is that the PSU fan is the loudest noise coming from the PC. I have installed quite a few of the G2's in various sizes and the noise issue does not seem to be endemic, but only seems to affect a certain % of units.

In short, while the G2 can't be called the "absolute best" Build Quality, (9.5 per jonnyguru) ... it's certainly "up there".

You'd have to spend a lil bit more to get something better ... i.e. the P2 version or Seasonic 750 Snow. Many would feel that spending the extra $ for the extra half point...

Many would feel that spending the extra $ for the extra half point or fluid bearing fan isn't worth it but I don't count myself among that group. The again, the B2, while not as good as the g2 is certainly a very good unit ... and until last week as $48. So there;s may good choices out there ... It's all about getting what **you** need for the price **you** feel comfy with. Some choices:

$71 EVGA B2 750 - 9.0 Performance / 9.5 Build Quality (Superflower Golden Green Platform)

thank you so much for you reply ..

so first .. by static electricity does that mean its not a problem ? is that normal then ?

and second .. is it a big possibility that the PSU is the reason for the display driver errors ? considering i tried all the software fixed and nothing worked .. especially the fact that some of these display errors are followed up by shutdowns.

1. Walking on a carpet in a low humidity environment will cause static electricity ... touch something metal and you will feel the small shock and even see the spark as it discharges. Is your system properly grounded with a 3 prong plug and 3-propmg grounded outlet ?

From your link

"apparently when i put sandals on there is no shocks anymore .. so i guess this is not a problem with the hardware ?"

2. No, that is a common error. My system has a 1250 watt 10.0 Build Quality rarted PSU and I see it every now and then ... I see it every now and then in many of our builds w/ other Seasonic and EVGA B2, G2, P2 PSUs.

There's a thread in the nVidia forums on the subject and it relates to windows TDRs.

https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/389688/geforce-drivers/nvidia-statement-on-tdr-errors-display-driver-nvlddmkm-stopped-/

yes i think my system is properly grounded .. so if i still get these shocks when touching my case does that mean its fine ?

i don't need to replace my psu ?

Again, as I'm not there I can not tell you what is happening, only what I suspect. In the link you provided, the OP said that when he took off his shoes, and put on sandals, the shocks went away. I "suspect" that is what you are experiencing. However, only you are in a position to test that suspicion (take off your shoes / touch metal before you touch the PC).
