Power supply requirement for a gtx 590

A system that I came across online that I bought on CL had a gtx 590 in it. The power supply that the system had was some weird 1000w off brand unit that I don't trust at all. So I'm just trying to figure out what wattage of PSU do I need to test this card out? I know it isn't the latest or that great of a budget card, but I got the system for only $40 and I wanna test out the card/system for fun.

What make/model PSU is it? Of course some are better than others but you generally don't see "piece of junk" PSU's in the 1000w range.

The 1000w doesn't have any branding on it and it's super light. It weighs about as much as a cheap 300w psu would. I'm just gonna use my extra 750w evga g2 psu since the minimum looks to be 700 then.
