I have the new corsair vs500. I've had it for almost 3 months and the noise that it makes it getting worse and worse. I've contacted corsair and am waiting for a reply. What could be the issue? I have the fractal design meshify c if it helps.

"What could be the issue? "

It could be that you bought the cheapest power supply that Corsair sells and you're using it in a manner it was not designed for, like a gaming system perhaps? What parts do you have connected to this cheap power supply?

EDIT: Just to be clear, I'm not...

EDIT: Just to be clear, I'm not knocking Corsair power supplies. They sell some of the best units available and I recommend them regularly. Users need to make a proper choice of model and capacity when selecting for their system requirements.

I'm using a rx 5600 xt and a ryzen 5 2600x. Its a fairly midrange system. It only draws about 300w from the wall under worst case load anyhow. I bought a EVGA 650w 80+ gold power supply to replace it a couple minutes ago. That noise was from being at the desktop. I took the psu out of the case and determined that it was a bad bearing. I know that its the power supply because I've got an arctic cpu cooler, and 6 other arctic p12 pst white fans so the power supply is the issue. my ssds are both nvme so its not a bad hard drive. Lesson learned-don't cheap out on a PSU.

If you stop the PSU fan with something like a popsicle stick or toothpick (NOT something made of metal / conductive) does the noise stop? To me it sounds like the fan. If the PSU was older I would recommend cleaning an lubricating the bearing but 3 months old? RMA the PSU, think about moving up one tier to a better brand / model.
