Hi,

I'm building a new PC and the case i'm using is the NZXT Phantom. Because it's a full tower case, i heard people saying that they have difficulty wiring their PC up because the cables of the PSU are too short to reach all the way across (behind) the case.

I wanted to know if anyone can suggest a good PSU that can go well with Phantom or any other full tower case. The GPU i'm using is the Radeon 7950 so i need at least a 500W PSU with 2 6pin connectors. I really dont intend on crossfiring to be honest but i will likely OC the card.

So far this is the PSU i have but i feels like overkill:

thanks i appreciate it

Yes, 750 W is overKill.
1) With a 7950, or a 7970, your Powere consumption under Load will be less than 350 Watts.

2) With a 750 W PSU idle power will probably put you below the 20% of PSU. Myself I prefer a Idle ratio of 20% and a Max load of <80%.

My Choice would be the Corsair TX650W. Still a litle overkill, but This would also handle Xfired 7950's in the slight chance you do decide to add a 2nd card.
$80 after 10$ MIR: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139020

Note: for corsair do not opt for the CX, only get the CS or better yet the TX models.
The NZXT Phantom is 540mm tall. The cable that I would worry about in terms of routing behind the motherboard tray and reaching it's destination is the CPU (ATX12V/EPS12V 4pin/4+4pin/8pin) cable.

According to reviews the 4+4pin cable on the Corsair TX750M is 60cm long, I'm sure on one of Corsair's PDFs it is listed as 65cm.

The 4+4pin cable on the Rosewill Capstone 750W is 60cm long. The 550W version is also a good unit and $80 with a %15 off promo code.

60cm long on the PC Power & Cooling Silencer MK II 750W.

The two 8pin cables on the Seasonic M12II Bronze 620 are 55cm long, so the least suitable out of the units suggested so far.

The hardwired 4+4pin connectors on the NZXT Hale82 units are 70cm long. ATM I can't think of any other units which have 'CPU cables' as long as that or even some other options with 'CPU cables' that reach 65cm.
