I just built this system on the cheap for running security cameras

G.SKILL 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

Intel Pentium E5200 Wolfdale 2.5GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor

ASUS P5QL-CM LGA 775 Intel G43 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Rosewill R5717 SL Silver ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with 450W Power Supply

Seagate 250GB HDD

I put this thing together and the first time i plugged it in and pushed the power button, the PSU went pop! and i saw a spark, after that the LED on the motherboard wasnt lit up anymore, so i took out the power supply and put another one in there, now the LED on the motherboard comes on, but the power button doesnt do anything. any ideas what could be wrong?

I would start off by going through this checklist:

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261145-31-build-post-checklist

It's possible that POS Rosewill took out other components in its blaze of glory. This is a perfect example of why no one on these forums will ever recommend a Rosewill PSU.

Edit: Actually, I have seen a few people recommend Rosewill PSU's around here. When you see a post like that, it's probably best to take their advice and turn 180 degrees. You're probably more likely to be facing in the right direction then. :)

Now, I unplugged the front audio connector and now it turns on, then immediately goes off, tries to come on again, goes off, endlessly

ok, so something was touching the motherboard wrong because I took it out and put it back in, it turns on now and stays on but there is no video.

Yea, I went through the checklist, seems to me like the most likely problem is that the original PSU took out the motherboard or the processor, how can i tell which one it is?
