Power supply which has 18+10 pin to 24 pin connector

There are 18+10 pin to 24 pin cables, are you planning to use such one or looking for one?
At best download the manual of your motherboard and read the pin out (voltages of the pins) accordingly. Having unconnected pins can prevent the board to power on.

Hi Members ,

I bought a thermaltake power supply which has a 18+10 connector (PSU End ) and it had 24 Pin connector (Mobo Side) , I did not read any document and there were no document inside the power supply , I connected only 18pin and 24 pin on the PSU and MOBO side respectively. And then switched on the power supply , nothing happened and machine didn’t turned on, that’s ok , then I released let me connect 18+10Connector all into the PSU End and already 24pin is connected to the motherboard. I switched on the machine , I see the bios comes up , I can see fans working I can see single healthy beep , DVD is detected , but if I press the DVD switch it does not open up .

My bios is not recognizing the Hard Drive at all, When I go to the SATA screen it say nothing found and so on.

I bought a new HDD , placed it in I see the same behavior , I feel that HDD is all good , only issue with the SATA circuitry did not got correct voltages and hence that part of the mother board gone bad. BIOS detects the Processor and hence Process is all good I believe . did any one did this type of mistake and had same expereinece please share.

The connector sample .

Have you double checked if the sata and power cables of the DVD drive are connected correctly? Have you tried installing an operation system using USB and installing the DVD drive from OS?
