Since today, I noticed my pcu making a whining noise. Coil whine? Does it mean I need to get it replaced? Will it damage any other components?

I'm running everything stock with no overclocking whatsoever.

Here's my pc, I just recently built it, all parts are new.

Intel i5 4670k
msi z87 g45
cm 212 evo
powercolor r9 290 pcs+
Kingston Fury 8gb 4x2 1866 ddr3
EVGA SuperNOVA 650W 80+ Gold
silverstone rv04

maybe try putting padding on, making sure its well of the ground, blowing some air through to try and clean it out of dust. If your willing and none of the previous works you can replace the fan yourself. Otherwise call customer service, badger them enough and they will replace it lmao :D

psu coil whine or electrical noise is pretty common, but only silent pc make it noticeable. some review sites get into the sound aspect and report on the issue but most sites ignore it completely and you are left to test it out for yourself.
