Hi so awhile ago i got a psu and it did not work with all the plugs in and everything. All it did was turn my computer on and then off in like 1 second. So i put my old psu back in and it worked. But today i decided to test my psu with the paperclip test and it worked, so why doesn't it work when its in my computer?

Solution
The next step is to remove the two power on wires that go to the motherboard header. Then touch the two pins with a metal object like a small screwdriver for a moment. If it starts up then the problem is the case switch or wires to the switch that sometimes get pinched and broken.

If that fails to start it up, then you need to troubleshoot all the other components.
