Power supply

my power supply [NEXUS NX-4090] has a 20 pin and a separate 4 pin powercable for the board, my board [P5Q] has a 24 connector and a 4/8 connector for its cpu. can i connect only the 20 pin in the 24 pin an connect the 4 pin in the cpu power socket? thanks already, just putting my system together and i would like to see it run tonight, so pls help

you'd need an adapter cable for 20 pin to 24 pin

but you'd be better off with a new psu probably

I agree, if the 4-pin by the CPU was good enough or vice versa why then do motherboards have both? They need the stability.

PSU's are often the cause of annoying glitches in a computer. It's always best to get a good one.
