Power Surge Issue

Basically today I had my computer off just moving things around, got it where I wanted and tried to put the power cord in the surge protector and bam, had to flip the breaker cause no outlets worked after that. I tried replacing the PSU to check if that would help, didn't. I gave it overnight and even tried flushing built up power. I've seen some threads mention some sort of a safety switch but I don't see anything of the sort on mine to kinda reset it, my motherboard lights up, even once all the fans turned on but now nothing happens at all. I don't know what to do anymore, don't have the money to replace the whole thing and I don't know how much damage was done.

Does the surge protector work when other items are plugged in?
My surge protector has a breaker reset button on it. Yours may have one as well...
