I was in the middle of doing something and then this happened:

The mouse and keyboard stopped working..I shut down the computer, tried to turn it on again and it wouldn't turn on...I removed all USB devices,
and then computer turns on...attached the keyboard and got the "Power surge on the USB port" again and the keyboard wouldn't turn on...I tried plugging
and unplugging several times untill it worked....but now one of my USB ports no longer works...I have to plug it into another port...

Anyone knows what's going on ? how do I make the USB port work again ?

What devices were plugged in exactly?

There could be a short of some kind in one of the devices or connectors.

you could try and reinstall the USB drivers. Open Device Manager- expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers- then uninstall all the SUB drivers there. After that restart your computer and Windows should reinstall the necessary drivers.

right now everything works fine .. but one of the USB 3.0 ports does not work...should I re-install only USB 3.0 entries in Universal Serial Bus Controller or should i re-install all of them ?
