Power Surge? - Random Restarts

Okay, so first time building a computer - learning as I go.

First. My CPU was getting to hot, found out my Kraken Cooler wasn't working; traded it out for a air cooler.

Okay, good

Now, the Computer randonly shuts down at times. Doesn't seem to be a heat issue, CPU, Graphics, and Motherboard were all around 20c and 30c.

It happens on idle, during games, and movies, and varies from going hours without issue to restarting serveral times in a row.

On the Asus startup it says a power surge was detected and it restarted it to protect itself.

Could not really find anything on here in that regards, so I undid all the wires to the power supply and reapplied them as well as better organized them and checked for damage.

As far as I can see, I have no idea what is wrong.

Additionally, sometimes the computer itself won't even shut down, the screen will just turn off, the computer has to then be manually restarted via power switch; then on the asus screen it talks about the power surge.

Any ideas?

Solution
That's a pretty solid power supply. Unless there is something faulty with it, that shouldn't be happening (although I have seen Asus Anti-Surge go nuts sometimes)

Another thing you can do is unplug all your cables and reseat them to make sure they are fully connected, perhaps something got knocked loose.
I would also try unplugging the system and holding the PC's power button to drain all remaining power and then plugging it back in to start it up and see if it fixes it.

If those fail try testing with another power supply if you perhaps have one or can borrow one from a friend.
Power Surges? Hmm... Make sure all the power supply cables are 100% properly seated. Switch the computer's power socket you're using (like a different plug point in your room). Make sure the power chord connected to the PSU is tight.
