Thanks in advance for reading long query.I have pretty old Creative speakers (2 sp. & 1 woofer),of 2007,which sometimes produce cracking sound when, the speaker volume button is turned on from off position. So is there any chance that reverese current is sent back by those old speakers, from speakers power adapter (which fell down few times on ground) to motherboard's green audio port and afftecing/damaging the system.

Owning a multimeter is not foolish. They are also helpful when you have other electricals with problems.
Also the chance of a power surge going to your headphones is very low, I mean EXTREMELY LOW! if you think you are prone to an attack of an overlotion (not sure if thats a word) of power, Assuming your headphones are still warranted, pack them up and ask for a refund/new pair. P.S. If they did get too much electricity they would make a screeching noise and you would most likely not get hurt. Maybe only some ringing in your ears for the next 10 minutes.

P.P.S There is a good chance that your house is rigged with tripper switches, When the tripper switches sense alot of electricity they will get triggered and all the power in your house will be shutdown.
