So, I've only been using my PC for a few days now but last few times I've tried playing games Asus anti-surge stops my pc and says there was a power surge. My PC is connected to an Anti-surge socket tower so I'm wondering, is Asus anti-surge telling me lies or is my power supply faulty? It was a cheap £30 Arctic power supply. Should I try and disable Asus Anti-Surge? Help here would be appreciated.

Computer just failed. Heard a loud bang so I opened my case and it stinks. Strong electrical smell and the psu is really hot and it stinks. Motherboard feels and smells fine though. I'm hoping the power supply failed and if so I can pick up a new one sometime and hopefully my mobo, gpu and cpu will be fine?

Okay. Awesome. Unfortunately I don't get paid for 2 weeks so I can't afford it yet. I'm going to borrow a psu my friend has and I know works fine and then plug it in tomorrow to test if everything boots up okay. After that I'll remove the power supply and just wait until I have the EVGA psu and then install that. Does that sound like an okay plan?
