Hey,
I'm asking this for a friend with bad english.
His computer was off today when he arrived back home (even though it was left on).
When he pressed the power button nothing happened and all connections seemed to be fine.
He then tried to turn it on by taking out POWER SW and touching the pins with a flat screwdriver which booted the pc up. (He is worried he accidently jumped the CMOS with the computer on at that point).
The problem since then is that the keyboard and mouse light up but don't register any key presses.
The pc boots up to OS login normally but he can't log in because the mouse and keyboard aren't responding. He also can't use them to get to BIOS.

Since then he disconnected all hardware and took out the CMOS battery for 5 minutes and reconnected but the problem persists.

He doesn't have any PS/2 input devices available currently.
The mobo he is using is Gigabyte GA-H270-HD3

Any and all assistance would be much appreciated,
Thanks a lot in advance
