Hi guys noob here building my first rig. I am trying to power a gtx770 with a coolermaster v700

The card requires 6pin and 8pin power. My PSU has pcie cables with both 6pin and 8pin on a single wire

My question is can i run the card off a single wire (using both 6 and 8 pins) or should i run 2 wires one for the 6 and one for the 8 and just leave the left over connecters unused?

You should always use the appropriate cables and number of cables when powering anything.

Just looking over the newegg specs, your PSU should have came with 4 6+2 (they can be used as either a 6 pin or 8 pin connector) connectors, which is more than enough.

So yes, just leave one of the +2s hanging from one of the connectors and you will be golden.

Just to clarify i ment my psu cables have 2x 6+2pin connecters on a single wire. I was unsure if i can run the 6 and 8 pins off the same wire or if its better to run 2 wires and have left over connecters dangling. I think the reply about the single 12v rail has answerd my question. Thanks guys
