I am looking at UPS possibilties and notice that wattage is = 60%VA. How in the devil do I add up my system components wattage to to find what UPS to buy? Can I safely use the max wattage of my PSU to ballpark my load?
Original Lenovo H50-55
180W PSU changed to 650 Corsair
On chip graphics changed to Gefore Gtx 750
(I wanted a better GPU so I had to upgrade the PSU)
Is 1000VA the right size UPS?

Solution
Buying too "big" a UPS doesn't hurt the equipment, just your wallet. A "too big" UPS can just support the equipment for a longer time. So a 1000VA might be right, might be too small or might be too big. It depends on the load and how long you want to run on batteries.
