Question Power?

So I unboxed my EVGA GTX 1070. It has a area to plug in for power so I plugged it in with the cable provider but how am I suppose to get it powered by my PSU? Look at the image. So confused.

You don't need or want that if you have a PSU that is of sufficient power. Your PSU should have at least one 6+2 pin cable that you use to power the card. Which PSU do you have?

I have a CX650M. I plugged the type 4 pin into the back of my psu then the 6+2 pin into the video card. Is that correct?

I plugged the 6+2 PCIe into the video card and the 8 pin into the 6+2 PCIe into the actual psu

You probably did it right, but your description is a little confusing. Looking at the picture you posted...
If you plugged the connector at the bottom of the pic into the PSU, and plugged one of the 6+2 pin connectors at the top of the pic into the 8-pin header on the gfx card, you did it right.

I’m not good at explaining. But that’s what I did. The EVGA light lights up and all.

Most modern PSUs will already have one or two outputs PCI-e (6+2)to supply power for GPUs. If a completely modular PSU, you will need to connect the cable that came with your PSU (using the correct modular connection!) to your GPU input....
