PowerA Pro Ex PS3 Controller to PC

I have recently purchased a PowerA Pro Ex PS3 controller, the wired version from WalMart. I have been trying to set it up with my PC to know avail. I have tried using DS3, and Scarlet Crush's solutions.
I am open to suggestions, because for all I know I was using both of those solutions incorrectly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am using Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit, by the way.

So I figured it out myself.
The controller is recognized on the PC as a Gamepad.
