I bought a powercolor 7870 Myst edition GPU about 2 years ago. This is the card that uses the Tahiti core so it is more like a 7950 than a 7870. The card has been a great addition to my system.
About 4 months ago I started having a problem with it where when I play a game, the card will heat up into the 90's before all of a sudden the fan kicks on at 100%, then once it cools down it will again heat up to the 90's and again the fan will kick on full force.
I tried downloading the latest firmware but it doesn't seem to help. I also have MSI afterburner and I can move the fan slider around but the fan does not do anything. It only kicks on when it gets up to 90F whether I have a profile selected or just set the fan speed.
Any ideas?
