I installed this and now my computer won't even boot to windows. It usually freezes when trying to boot windows. Is this a motherboard problem? I can't install the driver because of this.
motherboard: ECS L4VXA2 flashed to latest BIOS
using a 430 watt power supply
Pentium 4 CPU. 2.53 Ghz
also: USB ports don't work.

It's used, but the seller said it still worked. got it off ebay. BTW, on the card, I see pins near the DVI port. can someone tell me what they are? also, is 1gb RAM needed to run this card 'cause I only got 768mb RAM.
pin config on card: brackets mean what pins jumpers are connected to

everything is plugged in. Just wondering, but before when the Nvidia card was in, I remember the computer displaying what card is in the PC before booting up. After reinstalling Windows XP, it still does that. I remember the computer not doing that when the system was first built. I think a later Nvidia driver caused that. Can that be the problem? Remember, I just reset the computer so no drivers are currently installed.

that is a big change. clear cmos, format, reinstall. be sure of 8x agp? low .8 volt set?
did you buy the used ati with oe cooling? check the clearnce on gpu by shining a light in there, between the heatsink and gpu. it may be a goner...

and never even look at nvidia again. that is for the "others". :pt1cable:  :kaola: :bounce:
