PowerColor HD5670 1GB GDDR5 problem

It's a problem that bothering me for almost 2 years. I bought a new computer which is specs are:

MSI P6NG Neo-Digital
Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5200 @ 2.50GHz
Crosair 4GB ram
Sapphire Radeon HD4670 512mb
450 power supply

I was running on Windows Xp professional
Than I switched to Windows 7 Ultimate (build 7601), 32-bit

sometime after this a problem appeared. my gpu starred crashing into a black screen or a black screen with red/blue/ green stripes or even a white screen (shortly: i had many colors of screens), it could happened any time: when i played games, surfing the internet or just some minutes after logging into windows.
I could play all the day without any crashes and Boom! the day after it crashes 🙁
When it crashed i could still hear the sound on my headphones and after some seconds it freezes.
I tried to fix this by installing new drivers re-installing the old drivers nothing worked.

Note: I kept my Windows Xp installed on my hard disk and when i tried playing games on it worked perfectly without any crashes.
After while i erased it from my disk and moved to Windows 7 only, I don't want to move to Windows Xp back again !

I finally brought my old computer to the store ( i still had my guaranty, now i haven't)
They said to me that there is a problem with my card (As if I did not know) and sent me back with a new PowerColor HD5670 1GB GDDR5.

I was happy with my newer card and then the same thing, but more often and mostly crash into a black screen only.
Again I passed through all the procedure of installing and re-installing the drivers and all this stuff,
I even re-installed my operating system a couple of times. again nothing worked.
I tried different graphic cardson my computer and all worked well .
It’s really frustrating I am using my built in motherboard gpu for almost a year because of this.
I read hundreds of threads over the internet and still don’t found a solution.
I can’t afford a new gpu or a new computer so i finally came here hoping to get some help

update: Just switched to windows Xp although i didn't want to, result: the same problem.

Download Catalyst control center 14.9 for windows 7 32 bit here, but don't install it yet:

Now download and run Display driver uninstaller following the directions for removal of AMD drivers including allowing the safe mode reboot:

Reboot the computer after it completes and then install the 14.9 drivers.

i switched to windows xp and formatted my windows 7 and installed the latest driver so it isn't it

IF it works normally on the XP install but not in the Windows 7 install, using the same motherboard, cpu and psu, it has to be driver related. The card itself doesn't care what operating system you have as long as it has the correct and correctly functioning drivers. If you don't want to make an effort to try what is suggested, why do you bother coming here to ask at all. Just try what I said, it might not work but at least it gets you going in the right direction.

You might have broken driver files that need to be completely removed from the windows 7 installation in order to get the correct driver files to install properly. I've seen people install the same driver fifteen or twenty times and it never worked right, then they use the display driver uninstaller to remove all the partial files and broken failed drivers, then with a fresh install of the latest drivers, bam, it works fine. So it's up to you. You can try it, or you can go on using you XP or integrated graphics.

u didn't see my update i said i have the same issue on windows xp now.
could be a hardware incompatible? i think my motherboard has a pci-e 1.0 slot and the card is 2.1
it could be it?

IF it's doing it now, on a system it was working fine on before, and you haven't changed any drivers on the XP system between the time it was working fine and the time is wasn't, then I'd say with your symptoms, it's likely to be the card itself. If it's still under warranty, I'd RMA it. If not, you'll probably need to get a new card. It's possible it could be related to the PSU as well if you're using the same PSU for both OS's. Poor quality power supplies cause more GPU and other hardware issues, that act the the problem is other hardware, than actual failures of the hardware itself.

I'm guessing it doesn't ever do it with the integrated graphics though right? Still could be a PSU issue as the integrated graphics don't require the 6 pin PCIe power but it does make me tend to think it's the card more than likely.

Had the same problem, tried many things including: lowering the clock in 2d and so on. I've found out that so far for windows 7 only drivers 10.2 work without crashing, and for windows xp drivers 10.8.
This isn't much of a solution but ...
