Powerful gpu vs ssd and normal gpu

Hi I have built most of my system
I5 7500
8gb ram
Gigabyte gaming h270
Evga b3 450
S340 elite
I have a spare 500gb hdd which got corrupted whilst installing windows(fixing now)
I have £300 spare I have a choice I can get a msi gaming x 1060 6gb for 267 or buy a ssd (maybe the 960 evo 250gb) and a cheaper gpu for roughly 200.
I am not sure what to do because I don't know what prices were before etherium ect
I would also know hat the best ssd is for my budget
A gpu is needed as I plan to game at 1080 with at least 60fps

I would get the best graphics card in your budget, then buy an SSD later and CLONE your C-drive to it.

(If your Windows HDD is larger than 250GB I recommend you make the first partition roughly 200GB at most so you can clone easily to a 250GB SSD later, then delete the partition after testing on that HDD to recover the space).

The graphics card makes a huge difference for gaming. The SSD mainly helps with boot times and makes the system feel a bit snappier.

I didn't quite understand the "spare 500GB" comment.
a) you need to install a new version of Windows if you've got a new motherboard (new socket)
b) not sure how it got corrupted, but you should run MEMTEST86 to make sure your system memory works www.memtest86.com

Side note: Maybe add in 8 GB more ram later on.
