I want to connect my 285K PC to my OLED TV - currently an S95B supporting VRR@120Hz (may change soon to 144Hz, we'll see). So I want to be able to play 4K games with dips not far below 120 if possible, at the very least higher than 60. I play story games only (never fast-paced multiplayer like Fortnite). If I can play 4K native, that's nice. If AI-upscaled from 1440p (and I assume that would make the GPU cooler and more quiet?), that's also nice if the quality isn't really distinguishable from 4K Native. I don't really mind - currently using a PS5 Pro which does Upscaled 4K @ 120, and I like it a lot.

I assume AMD card are the better choice here, because I'm gaming on BazziteOS (a console-like OS based on Fedora, my other daily, primary OS). So I was eyeing the 9060XT, 9070, or 9070XT. What do you think? I read people are saying that the 9070 is 10-15% less powerful than the 9070XT, but draws 30% less power. So I like having a quiet, cool card if possible. Also, if FPS will be around 120 anyway, I couldn't care less - because it's probably going to look exactly the same to my eyes.

What I expect:

Tempest Rising - 120FPS on 1440p (a 2K monitor, different than the TV), hopefully on Ultra settings.
SIngle-player story titles on the 4K OLED monitor - don't care if it exceeds 144 (or even 120, currently), should look as good as possible tho.

Thanks <3

I play story games only
We'd need to know the titles you want to tax the proposed GPU purchase with. In your instance you might have to go with RTX 5070 Ti.

I'm afraid I'm limited to AMD only, because of all the bugs and issues with NVIDIA drivers for Linux. Not to talk about the big performance hit they bring in Linux:

Titles, well I'm not sure. I recently finished Last of Us 1 and 2 (for the fifth time ^^), Witcher 3, RDR2, SIFU, Baldurs Gate 3, Prince of Persia, Death Stranding, Elden Ring, and Uncharted on my console. So these are the kinds of games I usually play. GTA6 will soon come out, so that will surely be one. And whatever new titles come out with a deep story and nice graphics. Wanted to play Lies of P and other soulslike games too.

1440p and 4K does require a lot of graphics power. I would say 9070 XT despite the extra power draw.

RX 9070 isn't bad though.

9060 XT 16GB is probably too weak for 4K gaming at reasonable settings, at least compared to your screen's capabilities.
