So, there was a thunderstorm and my pc died. I can hear faint buzzing in my psu when i turn the psuswitch on, so I think that is okay( like when I put my ear to the back of the psu there is slight buzzing. It's like that with another psu I have too, so I assume it works) When I turn on the pc there are no other signs of life though. Can I take the gpu out from its pcie slot and try to boot then, to see if the fan spins on the gpu? If so do I leave the 24pin in the motherboard or should I just unplug everything else?

Okay, so I had the psu plugged into only the gpu now, and nothing else. No reaction from the gpu though. I'm not sure the fans would do anything by doing this in the first place though, so this didn't leave me any wiser 😛

Try stripping your PC to its barebones (PSU, mobo, CPU, memory, boot drive, monitor, kb/m) and then see if it runs.

Hopefully its just one of the nonessential part that is fried that keeps it from booting.

If it still dont work than you got to use another PC or spare parts to single out the broken part.
