Heyyo ! I've had a slightly impairing problem for a few days now. Here's the situation: I've been using PCL adapters for more than six months, everything worked fine since (I'd almost say flawlessy if not for one little issue that was quickly resolved), no lag, no drop, the connexion itself was even faster than before (ping and download-wise)! But the happy fairytail came to an end in a matter of seconds. I mean litteraly, one evening, the thingy just stopped working. Without any modification done to my system beforehand (no hardware upgrade, no software update of any kind, nothing).

Now for some more technical informations:
- Brand: TP-Link.
- Model: TL-PA4025PKIT.
- No Wi-Fi (thick-walled old houses and wireless networks don't mix well).
- Operating System: Windows 10.
- I'm using an Ethernet adaptor plugged on a USB port since my computer was struck by lightning one year ago (Model: KY-RD9700).
- Every three LEDs are lit on both adapters (which prompted me to think the problem came from the Ethernet cable, like last time).
- The exact error message on the administration tool reads "The local device isn't connected, please connect the local device." (loosely translated from "L'appareil local n'a pas été connecté, veuillez connecter l'appareil local.", kisses from France by the by \o).

And here are the things I've tried so far:
- Shutting off and unplugging the router for a good hour.
- Testing my Ethernet cable when directly linked to the router, then trying another one to be sure (solved the problem two months ago).
- Interchanging the two adapters.
- Trying every combination of ports plugging possible (on the adapters, router and computer).
- Reading 10+ threads on the subject on several websites.

Precision: I'm going back to town for my studies during the week, I won't be able to troubleshoot any given solution until Friday/Saturday.

Anyway, thanks for any help you can provide guys and gals ;D

Okay, so these three working LEDs on the PCL kept bugging me and (as I didn't have time to do so last week, but do now) I tried connecting my computer directly to the router. First with my Ethernet adaptor and then with that of my mom's computer (yeah, mine wasn't the only one struck by the wrath of the gods), result: it worked fine. Soooo finally, no biggie. The PCL wasn't the cause of all this trouble, just a faulty Ethernet-USB interface. Anyway thank you for your help RealBeast and live the good life. À la revoyure mon caillon \o

I have not used that exact set, but if they have reset buttons like most models I would reset both powerline adapters and set them up again. Sometimes for no good reason PL adapters will set up their own different network that is incompatible with the rest of the network.

Encryption, you mean pairing button? (It's the only one present on the adapters). I have tried that already, without any luck. Clearly my best shot until asking here was to wait and hope the issue went away as it came x)
